Payment Giant Mastercard announced Thursday that it will hire 175 new technology developers such as blockchain specialists, reported Coindesk on April 13.
The new additions to the company will work in Ireland at Mastercard’s office in Leopardstown, the same city in which Mastercard Labs headquarter is located. The new members will work on finding more efficient payment methods.
The payment giant aims to enhance the accessibility to financial services, as explained Mastercard Ireland’s country manager, Sonya Geelon.
“We’re driving projects that promote financial inclusion at home and abroad, and are working to provide consumers, businesses and governments with the most innovative, safe and secure ways to pay,” she mentioned.
Earlier in March, Mastercard announced that it was open to a central-bank issued cryptocurrency.
